NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The Colquitt County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a 2024 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 11.58 percent. All concerned citizens are in- vited to the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the Board of Education meet- ing room, 1800 Park Avenue, Moultrie, GA on August 28, at 11:30 am and 6:00 pm. Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Board of Education meeting room, 1800 Park Ave- nue, Moultrie, GA on September 5, 2024 at 5:30 pm. This ten- tative increase will result in a millage rate of 8.190, an in- crease of 0.85 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the mil- lage rate will be no more than 7.340 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000 is ap- proximately $32.30 and the pro- posed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $300,000 is
