NOTICE OF
PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The Colquitt County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a 2024 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 11.58 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the Board of Education meeting room, 1800 Park Avenue, Moultrie, GA on August 28, at 11:30 am and 6:00 pm. Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Board of Education meeting room, 1800 Park Avenue, Moultrie, GA on September 5, 2024 at 5:30 pm.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 8.190, an increase of 0.85 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 7.340 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $32.30 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $102.00
