If I am a bond-slave to Jesus I have relinquished my rights to me, myself, and I. I
people. How can God be trusted if He allowed this to happen to me? How could He allow this to happen if He is good and He loves me? Or this one - If He is all people say He is and this has hap- pened to me, then I am not worth being loved. He must love everyone else but me.
The enemy is out to steal, kill, and destroy. He gets into the minds of people through injury to the soul, and he in- terjects thoughts to attempt to keep the injury alive. The only way that he can accom- plish this is with the agree- ment of the wounded heart. Once he has established a detrimental thought process he has a fortress internally and the person becomes a slave to the tape that plays over and again in the mind. Emotions are generated in response to the thought, and
the cycle is firmly estab- lished. The only way for some to ever get free is to be rescued by love.
This is where we step in as Christians. If we are suffi- ciently rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus we have a well to drink from that contin- ually cleanses and purifies us of the debris that en- chains people who do not know Him. Our job is to show His love to those who feel unloved. Love is the seed that, once rooted, can over- power the lies of the enemy.
He will not ask you to do something that He has not equipped you for, but IF He asks you to evidence Him- self to the unloved or un- lovely, you can trust that He has a purpose for commis- sioning you into service. The
