RADICAL LIVING By Abigail Wakefield
Early this morning I heard the Holy Spirit say “We are entering into a season where chronos and kairos are meeting.”
Both of these words are Greek in origin, and their re- spective meanings linked to- gether are powerful to the hearing ear of a Believer! A chronos time is a measure- ment of quantitative time or an exact time, as in “chrono- logical.” A timeline. In this case, God’s appointed time- line. A kairos time is an op- portune time, or an
appointed time for specific ac tion.
I have been hearing for some time “The veil is thin- ning.” The veil, in this context, is the point where the spiritual realm and the physical world meet. In other words, what we see and what we don’t see are con- tinually profoundly impacting each other, and the aware- ness of that impact is begin- ning to be recognized, felt, and understood more than it has been in my lifetime. The last Great Awakening that many former generals of the faith saw in the spirit is hap- pening in this season.
This awakening is causing a massive realignment be- tween persons and entities. Some relationships are fall- ing apart and some are fall- ing together. The fence between is personal commit- ment to Christ. The world in- filtrated the church ages ago when leadership decided that the church needed to be culturally relevant. The man- date to the Ecclesia [the ac- tual people, rather than an organizational structure] is to go and be witnesses to Him, and His Gospel pierces through any culture if not whitewashed and robbed of the power of the Cross. The Lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world will always be the most sig- nificant story ever told, and it is for every generation of people of every tongue, tribe, and nation until His return.
When we look at every- thing that is happening in every sphere across the globe today, it is impossible not to see that the whole earth is rushing toward an apocalyptic ending, which sets the stage for a New Be- ginning. The facts should not be cause for fear, however, but rather should engender faith that we are the genera- tion who will see the return of the Lord.
Taking these thoughts to-
gether with the word I heard this morning, we see God saying that none of these things we are dealing with are catching Him by surprise. He has a plan, and His chro- nos timing is impeccable. He is saying that the timeline is on track, and that kairos mo- ments will be set in motion at very exact moments. What I believe is that the plan of the enemy has already been routed out of the earth, for Jesus came to “undo the works of the devil.” On the cross He said “It is finished,” and then resurrected He gave us the authority of His name. We are embarking into a season never before seen, when His authority will be utilized on a global scale by heretofore “ordinary” Be- lievers. We are about to usher in signs, and wonders, and miracles designed to heal the Body and bring in the unbelievers - the “who- soever will.”
