What a powerful en- counter! Can you imagine Jesus showing up in person and identifying Himself to you? That is exactly what is on His heart, if you have not yet been introduced. He will look for people to show Him- self strong through, but if He cannot find a person, He will show up in person. There are now many and multiplied stories of Him showing up in Muslim countries where it is illegal to preach the Gospel. His heart is so full of love that he is “not willing that ANY should perish.” When people meet Him personally they no longer have questions about His existence OR His love, because they testify to the love that overcomes them in His presence.
Whoever you are, wha-
tever your individual story, He is reaching out to you today through these words. He is meeting your ques- tions, doubts, and fears with one simple statement: “Come to Me.”
Oftentimes people think that if He exists that they have done too much wrong to be worthy of His love and forgiveness, and so they dis- qualify themselves. Please don’t do that. He qualified all of us on Calvary, no matter our story. He spoke to the thief who hung beside Him: “This day, you will be with me in Paradise.” There was nothing more exchanged than a man who said “Lord, remember me.”
The Lord remembers you. He knows every struggle you face, every hair on your head, every trauma that has embattled you or embittered you. He wants reconciliation - enough that He gave His life for yours. You, personally.
So don’t allow anyone or anything to keep you from His kindness. He longs for companionship and com- munion with you. He is not remotely religious, so just know that if you were hurt by “church people” ? So was
God.
