RADICAL LIVING By Abigail Wakefield
When we consider the works of Jesus and also His statement that we would do “even greater works than these,” - how do we account for the lack?
Jesus worked miracles out of the overflow of His inti-
did, you will face trials and tribulations that others will not. You may be reviled by those who are lukewarm or cold. You may find yourself alone and lonely at times for human companionship, but God Himself will make it up to you. He Himself will be your Comforter and Strengthener. He does not ask anything of us that He was not willing to do, and He does not require anything of us that we cannot do. Trust- ing Him is the most joyous journey we will ever have on earth, and those who cannot let go of the fear of man’s opinion in order to pursue Him will never know this all- consuming passion and pleasure.
Be brave, and be bold, for the season is upon us, and the end is fast approaching. Honor Him with the sub- stance of your life and you will find the secret of abiding, abounding joy.

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your chil- dren will be like olive shoots around your table. Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the Lord. May the Lord bless you from Zion; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. May you live to see your children’s children— peace be

mate relationship with the Father. He did not need to pray and fast for days while the demoniac was told to “come back a week from now and read the scriptures to prepare for deliverance so that he could keep it” once he got it. Such reasoning leaves many oppressed and leads them further into con- demnation while the “wisdom of man” misses the moment. We have been failing those who we have told to “come as you are” and saddling them with more guilt for not being “good enough” to get free. This is what happens when judgment begins to cloud revelation. Revelation is a breaking through that God Himself entrusts us with in order to advance His king- dom in ourselves and in others. When we get puffed up with the knowledge we have received and begin to think of ourselves as “above” the “ordinary” sheep, we have fallen into pride. Pride then disallows for love that sees as Jesus sees, and we become the stumbling block for our brothers and sisters while calling ourselves the stepping stones.
Jesus said we could “hasten the day” of His ap- pearing. The hastening will not come through posturing and pretentiousness, but through deep and abiding in- timacy that reproduce His virtue and His glory in us and cause the darkness to flee. The miracles from Peter’s shadow and Paul’s handker- chiefs are not reproducible by willing it to be so and cal- ling it prayer. Peter and Paul literally emanated the power of God because they sat- urated themselves in His presence continually. They sought His face and required Him above and beyond ev- erything else in their lives. They heard His words and quickly obeyed. They were not observant of the rules of man, fearing to offend, but rather sought to please God.
