   RADICAL LIVING By Abigail Wakefield
God’s highest order of all things is love. It has been said that the bible can be summed up in that one word. It seems too simplistic to say Jesus loves you, and that He wants relationship with you - no matter what your current state of being is, or what your past mistakes have been. But this is the full truth of the Gospel. This is the good news! All of us are wired for love, and intrinsi- cally we know this. Some- times the violations begin in the womb - an addict con- tinues to use, or a baby is unwanted but delivered. Sometimes the violations come in the form of neglect, or poverty, or abuse. Believe me when I tell you that God is not responsible for the vio- lations. He is not “allowing” these things to happen to you randomly or sovereignly. He is not in control, contrary to what you may have been taught in Sunday School, or even from the pulpit.
That statement will get you thrown out of some churches as heresy. These are usually the same envi- ronments that teach you that God is angry and standing behind Jesus with a big stick that only gets lowered if you receive Jesus. Nothing could
gates Him to a “lesser than” position within the Godhead. This is a position that leaves room for pastors and teachers to ignore Him or ad- dress Him as an “it,” thereby undermining the understand- ing that He is the power here on earth within us that en- ables us to live lives of holi- ness and authority. We are here for the express purpose of loving people into the Kingdom, and bringing truth to the table that God wants us whole! He is not exalted when we live in a slave men- tality, or when we think that we are somehow “less than” the next person.
When we know how loved we are by God, that knowledge produces a firm
foundation that undergirds everything else in our men- tality. We are to “put on the mind of Christ.” Christ knew that He was beloved of the Father; He knew that the Father was well pleased with Him. That knowledge gave Him the assurance that His prayers would be heard and answered every single time He prayed. This is what we have missed! Most church people are still praying “IF it be your will” kind of prayers, and those negate the very request as it is uttered. Lack of faith and
trust in His love are directly linked to lack of prosperity, in whatever form you need it to manifest.
put their trust in the Lord.

heard my cry. He drew me
up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog, and set
my feet upon a rock, making
my steps secure. He put a
new song in my mouth, a
song of praise to our God.

be further from the truth. The truth is that God is not angry with you - He loves you. Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit are three distinct per- sons in one, who are in per- fect unity. Making God angry while Jesus is love is cre- ating a distortion that says God is bi-polar.
Another fallacy to be dis- mantled is that the Holy Spirit is the “third” person of the Trinity, which somehow rele-
