    RADICAL LIVING By Abigail Wakefield
If someone signed you a blank check, how much would you make it out for? If you could choose the amount of money you would be granted, how much would be enough?
This is essentially what Christ did when He died, res- urrected, and ascended to the Father. He told the dis- ciples, “Up until now you have asked nothing in my name. But from now on you can ask anything of the Father, in my name, and it will be granted you.”
I don’t think that the largest number of us who call our- selves Christians actually
believe Him. The limitations of our inner selves and our outer circumstances cause us hesitation that usually be- comes relegation to the list of “impossibles.” We read “With Christ ALL things are pos- sible” but we fail to believe that the statement is fully true. If we cannot believe that everything He says is true, then we will never ap- prehend that truth for our in- dividual lives. We will continue to live on the fault line. Our own fault.
It’s ironic that the one thing He says to test and try Him in is the realm of finances. Most of us think that if we had enough money we could solve all of our problems. He gives us the key to unlocking financial resources when He says “Give, and it will be given back to you - pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing.” We don’t give enough to test Him - we give
enough to test us. We give as little as we can in order to

insure that we have enough
for ourselves. There’s no faith required for that. And “Without faith, it is impossible to please God.” He takes no pleasure in our fear, and He
tells us contin- ually
throughout Scripture to “Fear not.” Fear interrupts faith and stalls our breakthrough. “We have not because we ask not, or because we ask amiss.” Asking amiss is ask- ing for the wrong thing.
Why don’t we agree to ask Him for the thing we actually all need? We need faith to believe that everything He says is true, and that every- thing He promises is ours. We doubt Him because we don’t understand the depth of His love and care for each of us individually. Many of us see ourselves as less than our counterparts, and that is never how He views us. Even the natural elements of the earth are “groaning for the manifestation of the sons of God.” The trees and the
seas and the soil, y’all! The whole earth was subjected to our fallenness, and when we have regained our dominion then the world earth will re- joice and begin to regener- ate! If that’s a little too far fetched for you, go study it out for yourselves!
He intends for us to conquer the enemy and ad- vance the Kingdom. We can’t do that if we don’t even believe Him for the smallest of things in our personal
lives. Money is a tool, one that He knows we need. Start there, by giving, and let Him prove that you cannot outgive Him!
